Fishing Boat Capsizes Off NH Coast, 1 Man Dead
HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) ―
Authorities say one man died and another was hospitalized after their 12-foot fishing boat capsized in the ocean off of Hampton Beach, reportedly hitting rocks or a jetty.
The Coast Guard says the two men were knocked into the water at around 7 p.m. Sunday. A helicopter and boat crews responded.
Fire officials say when they got to the scene two boats were already circling the area. As a firefighter began swimming out to them, one boater managed to pull one of the men onto their boat.
That man had a pulse but was not breathing and they had to perform CPR. They were able to save his life.
The second man was still missing and his body washed ashore. His body was recovered by the Hampton Fire Department.
