Senator Hillary Clinton was in New Hampshire Tuesday saying she wants a new partner in the Senate, and a partner in the White House. In Dover, she endorsed Jeanne Shaheen, who is running against incumbent Republican John Sununu, for Senate. Clinton was also scheduled to hold a rally for Senator Barack Obama in Manchester Tuesday afternoon.
Senator Clinton has held more than 75 events across the country for Barack Obama and Joe Biden raising $10 million. She's also held events for 75 other candidates in 30 states, raising $500,000.
At the rally in Dover, the crowd chanted "Hillary. Hillary." Clinton told them it is time for a new direction. "I feel so strongly we cannot afford four more years of the same failed unproductive policies we've had to live with for the last eight years." She added, "Out with the old and in with the blue."
Shaheen took the microphone telling the crowd, "Our economy is failing and the middle class is paying the price. We've got to jump start the economy and get it working for middle class families again. We've got to restore real oversight and accountability to our financial markets so we don't get into this kind of crisis again."
A
new WMUR/UNH poll shows Barack Obama holds a commanding 55% to 39% lead over John McCain in New Hampshire. Jeanne Shaheen holds s double digit lead over incumbent Republican John Sununu, 49% to 38% respectively.
