Minivan Escape Fails For 2 Concord Convicts
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) ―
Authorities have arrested two minimum-security inmates who New Hampshire authorities say tried to drive away from a Concord work center in a minivan carrying two women and a baby.
A witness called police upon seeing two men wearing prison uniforms walking through a cemetery next to the center Sunday afternoon, the state Corrections Department said.
The department identified the men as 23-year-old Bruce True of Enfield, and 32-year-old Julio DeJesus of Lawrence, Mass. Police tracked them to Boscawen, where they arrested True first, and DeJesus about 10 minutes later. Police took both men to the state prison, WMUR-TV reported.
Police arrested the women in the minivan.
Both men were eligible for parole in 2010. DeJesus was serving a sentence for the sale, possession and manufacturing of heroin. True originally received a theft sentence.
