The Coast Guard battled rain and high winds Friday night while searching for a missing kayaker off the New Hampshire coast.

The search covers the six miles between the Isle of Shoals and the coastline.

At the time the 50-year-old kayaker was reported missing there were wind gusts of up to 45 mph.

The kayaker's name was not released.
