N.H. Biker Hurt In Motorcycle Stunt
WILTON, N.H. (AP) ―
A New Hampshire man was injured after he stood up on the seat of his moving 1974 Harley Davidson and then fell off.
Police say 51-year-old Carl Hannigan, of Nashua, suffered serious head and leg injuries in the accident on Saturday. He was flown to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.
Police say Hannigan's condition improved from critical to fair and he is expected to largely recover from his injuries.
Police say he wasn't speeding and was not wearing a helmet.
His wife was riding with him on a separate motorcycle and watched him fall.
Hannigan was performing a stunt which involves standing on the seat of a moving motorcycle popularized by the late "Indian Larry" Desmedt.
Desmedt died of head injuries after falling while performing the stunt in 2004.
