Pilot Dies In NH Plane Crash

LACONIA, NH (WBZ) ― A pilot was killed Saturday afternoon when his small plane crashed into the parking lot of The Margate on Winnipesaukee resort.

Witnesses told State Police they heard a loud bang before the plane clipped one tree and crashed into another, The Citizen of Laconia reported on its website. The pilot died at a local hospital a short time after the crash.

Authorities did not release the name of the pilot, who was flying alone. The Cessna 177 had just taken off from nearby Laconia Municipal Airport.

There was no indication of what had caused the plane to crash.
