Wellesley Family Killed In Peterborough Car Crash

A family from Wellesley is among those who died in a crash on Route 202 in Peterborough, N.H. Monday morning.

Police say an SUV driven by Stephen Lagakos, 63, of Wellesley, Mass., crossed the center line and crashed head-on with another car shortly before 11:30 a.m.

Lagakos and the other driver, Stephen Krause, 56, of Keene, NH, were killed in the crash.

Lagakos' passengers, Helen Lagakos, 95, and Regina Lagakos, 61, also died.

Peterborough police say the Lagakos' SUV caught fire after the collision.

Police are still investigating the crash.

Route 202 was closed near the Jaffery town line Monday morning, but was open again by late afternoon.
