UNH Freshman Allegedly Raped In Dorm Room

DOVER, N.H. (WBZ) ― A freshman at the University of New Hampshire says she was raped on campus last weekend. 

Police say the alleged rape happened inside one of the dorm rooms early Sunday morning. The female student was with a group of friends but sometime during the night, she separated from the group.

The female student told officers she wasn't sure which building she was in when she was assaulted. Many freshmen say because there are so many dorms on campus it's very easy to get lost and confused. 

It's not clear if the alleged rapist is also a student at UNH.

Emails went out throughout the campus warning students about the incident and the attacker's description.

He's described as a white male, clean shaven, 18-20 years old, about 5-foot 10, wearing a navy blue ball cap, button-down shirt and jeans. Police believe this is an isolated incident.

Although UNH's campus is well lit, safety officials are telling students to be cautious.
