High Winds Leave Thousands Without Power In NH

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) ― Utility crews are continuing to restore electricity across northern New England to homes that were left in the dark from high winds that caused widespread power outages across the region.

In New Hampshire, about 4,400 Public Service Company customers and 800 New Hampshire Electric Co-op members remained without power as of 6 a.m. Sunday. At the peak on Saturday, more than 50,000 New Hampshire homes and business were left without electricity.

In Maine, Central Maine Power said more than 2,600 customers were without power Sunday morning, down from about 18,000 that were without electricity Saturday.
