T Rider 'In Shock' After Fall In Front Of Train
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
A young woman who fell in front of an oncoming Orange Line train last weekend said she is in shock, and very thankful to those who helped save her.
Sophia Hartdegen of Cambridge released a statement to the media Tuesday night expressing her gratitude to the
bystanders who flagged down the approaching train, and to the train operator.
Hartdegen, 26, stumbled on the platform at North Station Friday night and then plunged onto the tracks inches from the deadly third rail. She lay motionless while several other passengers signaled frantically for the train to stop just in time.

Her landlord said Hartdegen is "stressed out" and thankful to all those good Samaritans. "She's thrilled. They probably saved her life from the train."
"She's happy that she's alive," George Mourgis told WBZ after talking to Hartdegen. "She said, 'I almost died twice, once with the train, once with the third rail.'"
Hartdegen told police that she had been drinking several hours before the accident. Her only injuries were a pair of scraped knees.
