Caught On Tape: Drunk Woman Almost Hit By Train

BOSTON (WBZ) ― The MBTA has released some dramatic video of an intoxicated woman who stumbled and fell on the tracks at North Station Friday night.

The unidentified woman is seen leaning against a wall, smoking a cigarette and waiting for the train. She apparently loses her footing, and falls onto the tracks, narrowly missing the third rail.

Other riders waiting for the same train saw the woman fall and began trying to flag down an oncoming train, hoping the conductor would stop before running the woman over.

Thanks to their persistence, the train stopped within inches of hitting her.

Once the train stopped, the video shows several people pulling the woman off the tracks and back onto the platform. Amazingly, she only suffered a few scratches on her knees. Transit police took her to Mass. General Hospital for an evaluation.
