The Orange Line operator who
stopped her train within inches of a woman on the tracks over the weekend will be honored Monday by the MBTA's Board of Directors.
Late Friday night a woman fell onto the tracks at North Station, just moments before a train approached the platform.
Passengers quickly waved down the train operator to stop.
It worked.

The train stopped within inches of hitting the woman, who Transit Police say was 'highly intoxicated.'
The front end of the train was actually over her when several people pulled her out.
The train operator has been on the job for four years.
According to witnesses, she received a round of applause as she pulled the train into the station, once the tracks were clear.
She is "shaken up" but o.k. according to Orange Line superintendent Susie Garcia.
