Patrick Embarks On Town Hall Meeting Tour

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Gov. Deval Patrick, launching a statewide town hall meeting tour, said there are "no silver bullets" to solve the complex issues facing the state.

About 200 people, some from as far away as Pepperell and Reading, met with Patrick Tuesday evening in the first of 11 similar meetings he has planned for the summer as he fulfills a campaign promise to get better in touch with the public.

The governor says he wants to give the public a chance to offer their observations and ideas on issues from education reformĀ

"As we continue to rebuild our economy and our people, it's important that all our residents feel part of these initiatives," said Governor Patrick. "I look forward to hearing from all of my constituents on issues they care about most, and how the state can be a better partner to local communities."

Anyone is invited to attend these meetings, which will take place rain or shine. According to the state's Web site, the meetings will give people the chance to talk to Patrick about the issues that are affecting them most.
