Robbers Lure Pizza Delivery Man With Fake Order
Delivery Man Fights Back During Robbery
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ) ―
A Framingham pizza delivery man was stabbed with a knife and robbed Monday night after two men called in a fake order to rob him, police officials said.
The Waverley Street Papa Gino delivery man went to an apartment in the 100 block of Beaver Street to deliver a pizza.
Police said once the delivery man was let inside the lobby of the apartment building one of the two men demanded money as he held a knife, police said. The other man held a baseball bat.
Police said the delivery man fought back by throwing a two-liter bottled of soda and the pizza at the robbers. In the process, he was slashed with the knife before the robbers fled.
The delivery man was treated and is expected to be OK.
He told police he saw them get into a Pontiac Grand Prix that police later learned was reported stolen.
Police said they believe the robbers came upon another Pontiac Grand Prix parked at Natick High School and switched the plates from the stolen car with ones from the parked car.
Police said the resident of the apartment where the pizza was to be delivered had not placed the order.
The two suspects are described as 6 feet tall, 18-year-old black men. Both wore black hooded jackets and ski masks.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Framingham Police Detective Darren Crawford at 508-532-5929.
