Voters Back Plan To Build Movie Studio In Plymouth
PLYMOUTH (WBZ) ―
Voters in Plymouth are backing a plan to build a movie studio in the historic town, according to a newspaper report.
The Patriot Ledger reported 88 percent of the town's voters backed the plan in a nonbinding ballot vote on Saturday.
A former air base in Weymouth is also being looked at as a potential movie studio location. Quincy state Rep. Ronald Mariano created a bill that offers tax incentives for the creation of a film studio.
There has been a spike in filmmaking in the Massachusetts after the state adopted a series of tax breaks for movie studios.
