Power Watch Issued: People Asked To Save Energy
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
A power watch has been declared for northeast Massachusetts and Boston.
According to ISO New England, a combination of unplanned transmission and power plant outages in the area has created the need for consumers to conserve energy.
Officials say the power watch will remain in effect for the rest of the day.
People in the affected areas are being asked to reduce their electricity at home and at work by turning off unnecessary lights, appliances, computers and other office equipment.
