Python Found Along N.H. Road

CONCORD, N.H. (WBZ) ― Police in Concord, New Hampshire responded to an unusual call over the weekend: a big snake on the side of the road.

When officers arrived near the intersection of Long Pond Road and Little Pond Road Sunday night, they found a six foot long python. The caller had spotted the snake and feared it could injure a child or pet.

Police say it appeared that the snake was injured and had been hit by a car. Officers captured it and took it to a local veterinarian for treatment.

Pythons are not naturally found in New Hampshire. Authorities believe the snake was somebody's pet that either escaped, or was abandoned.
