Tides were high Monday in Scituate as a storm moved through.

Public safety officials in Scituate will be keeping close watch on tonight's high tide as a nor'easter blows toward the South Shore and threatens to cause minor coastal flooding.
Waves broke over the jetty at Lighthouse Point in Scituate during this morning's high tide and played a glissando on the seawall behind homes along Oceanside Drive. However, there was no damage caused and no flooding there or in other waterfront sections such as First Cliff.
It has been less than a suitable day, however, for bringing a small craft back to Scituate Harbor from Martha's Vineyard where Andy Salvador's nephew and crew are staying put.
"They tried to come back yesterday, got out of the canal and it was like this. So he's got his boat down there and they're waiting this out," said Salvador who has lived in Scituate all his life.
Salvador has seen many storms and ranks this nor'easter low on any scale. Other longtime South Shore residents agree, but some still like to witness the force of nature up close.
"It's pretty fun being out here. Huge waves," said Tom McAdam of Scituate but, "not like a hurricane or anything."
In Humarock, Mark Perfetti said he'd lost about 20 feet of rocks to the ocean.
"Tonight is a worry cause last night it was pretty scary. We stayed up until an hour past high tide and tonight's supposed to be about a foot higher, I think, and the storm's been turning out at sea so we're a bit concerned about this evening," Perfetti said.
High tide tonight is at about 11:30.
