Teen Charged As Accessory In Revere Cop's Murder

REVERE (WBZ) ―

A teen charged as an accessory in the September killing of a Revere police officer pleaded not guilty during her arraignment in Chelsea District Court Monday.

Prosecutors say Gia Nagy, 17, of Revere, helped her boyfriend Robert Iacoviello Jr., 20, break the gun used in the shooting death Officer Daniel Talbot and hide it in a storm drain. Prosecutors also say Nagy helped fabricate an alibi for Iacoviello.

Iacoviello was arrested in November in connection with the case and has since pleaded not guilty to the murder.

Iacoviello was the second person to be charged in Talbot's killing, joining 17-year-old Derek Lodie, who has pleaded not guilty to being an accessory to murder.

Prosecutors say Talbot and three other police officers were drinking beer and socializing in the bleachers at the Revere High School athletic field when Lodie exchanged angry words with the officers.

Lodie then allegedly called Iacoviello, who is accused of shooting Talbot in the head.

The Grand Jury investigation into the shooting is still at work. The District Attorney said by the time the investigation is over, there could be more arrests in the case.
