One man was killed and two others were injured in a triple shooting in Roslindale Wednesday.
Boston police said they believe the three shooting victims were ambushed at the corner of Poplar Street and Metropolitan Avenue around 1:15 p.m. The car ended up about a half mile away at corner of Beech and Beram streets. Police said the driver was uninjured.
All victims were inside a livery vehicle when the car was sprayed with bullets.
A man who was shot in the head died later at a local hospital. Another victim was shot in the chest and was in critical condition Wednesday night. A third victim was shot in the leg and is expected to be OK.
All three men are between the ages of 17 and 23.
Two of the victims were taken to Boston Medical Center and the other victim was rushed to Brigham and Women's.
Two schools in the area, The Conley School and the Phineas Bates School, were in lockdown for 30 minutes because of their proximity to the crime scene.
Police are asking any passengers who were riding the #50 MBTA bus passing by Metropolitan Avenue and Poplar Street at the time of the shooting to come forward. Boston police detectives can be reached at 617-343-4470. Anonymous tips can be placed at 1-800-494-TIPS or text the word TIP to CRIME (27463).
Police are investigating whether the shooting is related to a shooting in Dorchester Wednesday that critically injured one victim.
