2 Teens Dead, 3 Injured In Route 1 Crash

REVERE (WBZ) ― Two teenagers were killed and three others injured in a crash on Route 1 in Revere Thursday morning.

The northbound lanes of Route 1 were closed for hours while the scene was investigated and the roadway cleared.

Just after 11 a.m. a Mitsubishi Montero with five teenagers inside rolled over.

The driver was 19-year-old Kelly Barber, of Weymouth, who was taken to Mass General Hospital. Two 17-year-old male passengers, one from Weymouth and one from New Hampshire, were also hospitalized.  All three suffered serious injuries.

A 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were killed in the crash.

The girl, who is from Hull, was sitting in the backseat when the car flipped. Police say she was wearing a seat belt. The boy, who was sitting next to her, was not wearing a seat belt. He was from Ipswich.
