Boston Teen Arrested In 4-Year-Old Boy's Shooting

ROXBURY (AP) ― A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Roxbury that left a 4-year-old boy and his teenage cousin injured.

Police say Larelle Pratt, of Boston, was arrested Thursday in connection with the young boy's shooting on Monday.

Family members say the boy and his 17-year-old cousin were sitting on a porch on Bragdon Street when they were shot. Police say the younger child was struck in his side and the older boy was shot in the arm. They were taken to Boston Medical Center and their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police believe the older boy was the intended target.

Police had earlier questioned a 17-year-old boy about the incident but released him. Pratt faces several charges, including two counts of assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, armed career criminal level 1 and operating after revocation or suspension.

The shooting marked the start of a violent night in Boston, where police also were investigating four other shootings and three stabbings. None were fatal.
