Traffic Backed Up For 11 Miles

A multi-car wreck on the Sagamore Bridge in Bourne Friday afternoon turned into a traffic nightmare for holiday travelers.

The collision closed the bridge in both directions, backing up traffic for miles.

Four cars were involved in the afternoon wreck, and several people were hurt. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

Both sides of the bridge were reopened around 3:30 p.m. At one point traffic was backed up for about 11 miles.
