Woman Killed In Head-On Collision

A woman was killed Wednesday night in a head-on collision on Route 8 in Sandisfield.

The two-car crash happened around 8 p.m. near Tucker's Tavern. Police said a female driver of a Honda hatchback was hit by 47-year-old Pamela Balsamo's Mercedes sedan in the northbound lane of Route 8. Police said the Mercedes was driving in the wrong direction.

The Honda's driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released.

The crash is under investigation.
