Boy Chokes To Death While On School Bus
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
A 5-year-old boy choked to death while he was on a school bus in Marlborough Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Nancy Stevens said.
The unidentified child began choking on an object around 3:30 p.m. while riding home on a school bus. Police and fire crews were called to North and Maple streets in Marlborough where the bus had pulled over after the boy began choking.
Stevens wouldn't say what exactly the boy was choking on.
Emergency personnel tried to revive the boy but he was later pronounced dead at Marlborough Hospital, Stevens said.
The boy was a student at the Kane School. Parents, students and staff were being notified of the boy's death Wednesday night. Grief councilors will be on staff at the school on Thursday.
