Funeral Held For Sisters Killed In Arson Fire

SOUTH BOSTON, Mass. (WBZ) ― Friends and family gathered Saturday to mourn the loss of two sisters who were killed in a South Boston house fire two weeks ago.

Mourners couldn't hold back tears as the bodies of 14-year-old Acia Johnson and her 3-year-old sister Sophia were carried out of St. Patrick's Church.

The girls were killed in a fire that investigators say was deliberately set.

Their bodies were found embracing one another inside a closet of the West Sixth Avenue home.

Acia's friends say she was a wonderful person who adored her little sister.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office is now conducting a grand jury investigation into the April 6 fire. No arrests have been made.

Boston police ask anyone with information regarding the fire to call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 800.494.TIPS, or the Homicide Unit at 617.343.4470.
