Snowstorm Expected For Valentine's Day
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
The first significant snowstorm of the season is expected to arrive just in time for Valentine's Day.
WBZ meteorologist Mish Michaels says there is a winter storm watch in effect for late Tuesday night until Wednesday night. The snow should start falling after midnight Tuesday and most of the day Wednesday.
The totals will vary based on the storm's track and how far it moves inland.
There could be 3-to-6 inches on the ground from Boston to Providence.
The storm will change to sleet and rain by midday, but parts of central Massachusetts could get 6-to-10 inches of snow.
By the time the storm is over southeastern Massachusetts and the Cape and Islands will have just rain.
Western and northern New England will get heavy snow, possibly 10+ inches, which is good news for skiers and snowboarders.
