Snow, Rain And Sleet Expected For Friday Commute

BOSTON (WBZ) ― There is another storm heading to southern New England for Friday. The good news is there will probably be more rain than snow. The bad news is the morning commute could be a mess.

WBZ meteorologists say the precipitation will move in late Thursday night. West of Boston will see a burst of snow, while southeastern Massachusetts will be dealing with rain.

The rain-snow line will move north during the early morning hours Friday, bringing mostly rain to the Boston area and most of Massachusetts. The northern half of Interstate 495 and southern New Hampshire will be hit with a wintry mix of rain, ice, and snow. Snow will coat northern New Hampshire and parts of Maine.

The storm will be gone by the afternoon and sunshine is expected for the rest of the day.

Saturday will be mostly clear with a high of 32.

Then bitterly cold air and snow showers are expected for Sunday, with a low of 12 degrees in the Boston area. There will also be below zero wind chills for the Patriots-Chargers game in Foxboro at 3 p.m.
