BOSTON (WBZ) ― A dozen town administrators from Middlesex County are asking the state for help because they say they have been left out of federal disaster assistance.

They say FEMA approves disaster aid on a county based population formula, and because Middlesex county didn't have enough aid, it wasn't included.

But there are towns in Northwest Middlesex County that received the same amount of damage as other towns right next to them, and they will not receive help.

FEMA gives 75 percent reimbursement for ice storm damage, which adds up to more than $100,000 for some towns.
