South Station Fire Shuts Down Red Line
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
A fire at South Station in Boston temporarily shut down Red Line service between Kendall to JFK Station Saturday, MBTA officials said.
The small fire was knocked out but shuttle buses were running between Kendall and JFK.
According to the
MBTA's Web site, customers needing shuttle bus service at Downtown Crossing need to walk to South Station or Park Street to board shuttle service.
The Orange Line and Green Line were not affected by the Red Line fire.
Downtown Crossing remained open for Orange Line customers, and Park Street remained open for Green Line customers.
Service between Park Street and Kendall was already scheduled to be shut down this weekend due to track work being done on the Longfellow Bridge.
