Flying Tire Causes Crash On Southeast Expressway

A freak accident tied up rush hour traffic on the Southeast Expressway Monday morning.

A tractor-trailer lost a tire in the southbound lanes in Dorchester just after 6 a.m.

The tire flew off and hit a car, causing it to spin out of control and crash.

There was an initial report that at least one person was hurt, but State Police said Monday afternoon that there were no injuries.

The truck pulled over immediately after the accident.

Traffic was backed up in the area for about an hour.
