State Police Cruiser, Car Collide Head-On

BRIGHTON, Mass. (WBZ) ― A car hit a State police cruiser head-on after allegedly running a red light late Friday night on Western Avenue in Brighton, police officials said.

Both the driver and the trooper were taken to area hospitals to be checked out, but both are expected to be OK.

State police officials said witnesses claim the driver of a car ran a red light on North Harvard at Western Avenue just before midnight, smashing into a police cruiser.

The collision is under investigation.
