National Grid issued a warning for families in the Worcester area Monday. It has come to their attention that people are going door-to-door posing as utility workers, and scamming people out of cash.
According to National Grid, the imposters claim to be National Grid workers at their home to restore electricity. They are charging people $2,500 for the service.
National Grid said if anybody demands a payment from you on scene to restore your electricity, they are not National Grid workers. The utility says their workers always carry company identification.
