Police in Stoughton received a tip that helped them foil a planned bank robbery.
According to police, they caught wind of a bank robbery that was going to happen at the Webster Bank on Washington Street Monday afternoon.
One suspect, Aaron DiMillio, 23, of Brockton, was placed under arrest while trying to enter the bank, police said. He was caught with a fake black gun, latex gloves and a note.
A second person, whose name is not being released, was also arrested. He was taken into federal custody, police said.
Police are now trying to find out if a bomb scare called into Stoughton High School is connected to the bank robbery. The threat was called in at 11:40 a.m.
Earlier this year, a robbery suspect pulled off two bank robberies in Needham and Wellesley after calling in bomb threats to create a diversion.
It is unclear if this suspect is connected to those robberies, but police are investigating.
