Lawrence Woman Slams Into Neighbor's Front Porch

LAWRENCE (WBZ) ― A Lawrence woman allegedly forgot to take her foot off the gas of her Jeep Liberty and wound up scaling a neighbor's stone wall and landing about 7 feet above the sidewalk in someone's front porch.

The Eagle Tribune is reporting Margarita Burgos, 37, who lives on Irene Street, was trying to back out of her driveway Wednesday when the accident happened.

According to police, Burgos simply forgot to take her foot off the gas pedal.

Roz Coelho, whose house Burgos crashed into, recalled wondering why Burgos was backing up so fast. But, before she knew it, Burgos' car had scaled her three foot stone wall, crushed a bed of roses and broke through the front porch – coming to a stop only six feet away from her 2-year-old niece, the Tribune reports.

Police told the newspaper Burgos has a clean driving record with no prior problems.
