There are as many as six students at Amherst College who may have cases of swine flu, college officials said Thursday night.
School officials say two have tested positive for Type A Influenze, which may be the H1N1 strain of the virus, also referred to as swine flu. Their cases are considered 'probable' cases of swine flu.
Four additional students are experiencing flu-like symptoms, but their test results are still pending. These cases are deemd 'possible' cases at this point.
None of the students' cases are considered serious, officials said, and all are responding well to treatment.

The college is taking precautions but the school will not close, officials said. The six students will remain in isolation for up to seven days after the onset of symptoms.
Students and staff are asked to stay home if they start to experience flu-like symptoms.
So far, most swine flu cases in the U.S. have been relatively mild. There are more than 100 cases in over a dozen states. There has been one fatality in the U.S.
OTHER MASS. CASES:
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino announced Thursday night there is a "probable" case of swine flu at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
It's Boston's first suspected case of the virus. As a precaution, the School of Dental Medicine will be closed Friday. The Boston Public Health Commission has requested that Harvard cancel classes for all third- and fourth-year and postdoctoral dental students until the extent of the illness is known.
The student, who was not identified, is said to be recovering.
There are
two confirmed cases of swine flu in Lowell and two
"probable cases" in Brockton. A Coast Guard member is also being tested for the virus.
Since two boys in Lowell became infected with the virus after returning from a trip to Mexico, no other residents have fallen ill. Health officials say those cases appear to be isolated.
