A popular Boston seafood restaurant,
Anthony's Pier 4, owes more money in overdue city taxes than any other company, the mayor's office confirmed Monday.
The harborside restaurant owes more than $822,000.
Pier 4 tops the annual list of the city's largest tax delinquents. Other venues on the list include
Boston Yacht Haven in North End,
Boston Children's Museum and
Simco's.
The Boston Yacht Haven owes $115,246, the Children's Museum owes $23,174 and Simco's owes $22,834.
George K. Regan, spokesman for Anthony's Pier Four, Inc., said the problem was related to a bookkeeping issue.
"They're changing accountants, and what should have happened didn't happen. No one's disputing the amount of taxes," he said.
Regan said the amount will be paid back in full by the end of the week.
A 14 percent annual interest rate is tacked onto overdue bills, city officials said.
The city of Boston currently faces an $85 million budget deficit.
