eBay Winner Sends Wampanoag, Pilgrim To Children's

Plimouth.org has announced a winner for their "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?" eBay auction.

An anonymous business man won the auction after bidding $5,000. The prize: a Thanksgiving appearance by a native Wampanoag man and a colonial English pilgrim, in costume and in character.

The donor is sending the two characters to Children's Hospital for their annual Thanksgiving celebration on November 26.

The donor asked to send the pilgrim and the Wampanoag to Children's because he and his family once spent Thanksgiving at the hospital with a sick child.

He said the time in the hospital will never be forgotten, and he thought this auction would be a great way to pay it forward.

"We appreciate the generosity of this donor who is lifting the spirits of our patients and their families during a difficult time by providing a deeper appreciation of the historical significance of Thanksgiving," said Michelle Davis, Vice President for pubic affairs at Children's Hospital.
