A 3-year-old boy fell 12 to 14 feet out of a window from a Dracut home on Primrose Hill Road Thursday afternoon, landing on his head, police officials said.

The boy, identified by the Lowell Sun as Patrick Paquette, was unconscious and unresponsive immediately after the fall, police say.

He was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital. During the flight, officials say the boy was in and out of consciousness and is considered to be stable.

Police say it appears the child fell about 12 to 14 feet from the window.

The incident is under investigation.
