Toddler Found Wandering On VFW Parkway

A toddler found wandering on the VFW Parkway in West Roxbury has been reunited with his mother.

The three year-old was found walking in a lane of traffic late Monday afternoon. A postal worker and private ambulance found the boy. They said there was no sign of a guardian at the scene, so he was taken to Faulkner Hospital to be checked out.

Police say the child's mother arrived at the hospital a short time later. She said she had been in the neighborhood searching for her son, who is autistic and has wandered from home in the past.

The child was released into his mother's custody and the situation was referred to the Department of Social Services for follow up.
