SWANSEA (WBZ) ― The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down Wednesday afternoon in Swansea.

The twister was photographed around 4 p.m. over the water near Barrington, R.I., as severe thunderstorms swept through parts of Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
