Tropical Storm Hanna delivered torrential rain and wind late Saturday night into Sunday,
dumping as much as six inches of rain in some areas.
The storm tracked right over Cape Cod, sparing that area the worst of the rain, which fell on the north and west sides of the storm's center. The Cape was hit with strong winds.
Peter Judge of the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency said the region fared pretty well through Tropical Storm Hanna. "We had minimal calls from local communities and there are minimal power outages," Judge told WBZ on Sunday morning. He said at the peak, about 15,000 Massachusetts customers were without power, with the heaviest concentration in the Merrimack Valley.
Many roads in Manchester, New Hampshire were
under several inches of water early Sunday morning. There were other scattered reports of street flooding and downed trees across the region.
Nashua, New Hampshire recorded just over 6.5 inches of rain Saturday and early Sunday. Duxbury and North Grafton were not far behind at 6.4 inches of rain. Concord, Mass. and Tewksbury had about 4.7 inches of rain; Plymouth had 4.3 inches and just over two inches of rain fell in the city of Boston.
