Truck Crash Shuts Down Ramp From I-93 To I-95

STONEHAM (WBZ) ― A truck crash shut down a busy ramp connecting Routes 93 and 95 in Stoneham for much of Thursday.

A tractor-trailer carrying a large concrete I-beam rolled over on the ramp from 93 south heading to 95 north just after 10:30 a.m.

The driver was the only person injured in the wreck.  He was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. 

It appears the driver had trouble negotiating the turn.  State police say the beam weighed 88,000 pounds.

The ramp remained closed for hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage.  It took several hours to remove the tractor trailer, but the road was reopened in time for rush hour traffic.
