Pickup Truck Runs Into Charles River

CAMBRIDGE (WBZ) ― A pickup truck ran off Memorial Drive and into the Charles River in Cambridge early Friday morning.

It happened between Western Avenue and JFK Street around 6:15 a.m.

The driver escaped. He was soaking wet, but did not appear to be seriously hurt.

It's not clear what caused him to run off the road. State Police were interviewing witnesses.

The eastbound side of the road was shut down so the truck could be removed.
