Mass. Extends Unemployment Benefits
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
If you live in Massachusetts and you're running out of unemployment benefits, there is some good news.
The state announced Friday that anyone who has "exhausted regular and extended unemployment insurance benefits may be eligible for up to 13 additional weeks of benefits under the
Emergency Unemployment Compensation Act of 2008."
The extension will go into effect February 15.
Anyone who is potentially eligible will receive instructions in the mail the week of February 8.
The weekly benefit amount will be the same as the amount collected on the first extended benefit claim.
