Water Main Break Floods Red Line On Dorchester Ave
SOUTH BOSTON (WBZ) ―
A large water main break in South Boston flooded part of the MBTA Red Line.
The break happened early Saturday evening at 293 Dorchester Avenue, which is near the Andrew Red Line station.
NStar, Boston police and Boston fire officials all responded to the water main break.
Water in the area was quickly shut off and did not affect service on the Red Line.
However, the flooding did cause the street to buckle and crack.
Crews were expected to make repairs overnight and Sunday.
