Authorities have dubbed a bank robber the "U30 Bandit" after he hit up seven banks in the Boston suburbs between March 26 and June 16.
In three of the robberies, the robber carried a device that appeared to be a bomb. The devices all turned out to be fake. The "U30 Bandit" title comes because the robber holds up the banks in under 30 seconds.
Police say the armed robber's style is concerning to them because it's so dangerous.
"He has a very aggressive style. Lots of time he jumps right up on the counter, hoists up on the counter," said Wellesley Deputy Chief Bill Brooks. "We see his finger is on the trigger when he jumps on the counter. That's a very bad combination."
Of the seven robberies, two have been in
Wellesley, one of which involved a
suspicious device left down the street in a possible attempt to distract police.

In all of the robberies, the man is well-covered, wearing a sweatshirt, hood, baseball cap or ski mask – even a
Halloween mask and wig with dreadlocks in a couple cases.
Police believe the robber is fleeing the scene in a car driven by an accomplice. There is little description of the man other than being white and about 5 feet 10 inches tall.
He has hit up banks in
Wellesley,
Needham,
Newton, Walpole and twice in Dedham.
Police officials say all departments are working together to catch the robber. The FBI is also involved.
The FBI plans to speak publicly on the robberies Tuesday. There is a $37,500 reward being offered for information leading to the robber's arrest.
