3-Alarm Fire Breaks Out At West Roxbury Apartments

WEST ROXBURY, Mass. (WBZ) ― A three-alarm fire broke out Friday afternoon at an apartment complex on the VFW Parkway in West Roxbury near the Dedham line.

The fire broke out on the porch of one of the second floor apartments where a tenant was grilling.

One person was taken to an area hospital.

While traffic in the area was getting by while crews worked to put out the fire, it was backed up during rush hour.

The 16-unit complex had been recently built.
