1 Killed After Car Smashes Into Utility Pole

One man was killed and another injured when this car smashed into a utility pole on Vermont Street in West Roxbury.

A 25-year-old man was killed when a car crashed into a utility pole in West Roxbury overnight.
The crash happened on Vermont Street early Saturday morning when the driver of a car smashed the vehicle head-on into a utility pole. When police arrived they found the driver and a passenger trapped inside the heavily damaged, smoking vehicle.
One victim was taken to Faulkner Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other man was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Their names have not been released pending family notification.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
