A driver was killed early Thursday morning when his car went flying and crashed into a toll booth at the Weston tolls on the Massachusetts Turnpike.
State police say 25-year-old Kunal Motwane of East Boston failed to stop for Waltham police on Route 128 south around 2 a.m.
A short time later, he lost control of his 2007 Volkswagen Passat in the westbound lanes of the Weston tolls, went airborne and slammed directly into an empty toll booth.
The car burst into flames.
Motwane was rushed to Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where he died.
No one else was hurt.
Police have not said why they tried to pull Motwane over on 128.
